Zac Posen for Target Pop-Up
Last night saw the premiere of the Zac Posen for Target collection, rolled out by Target during an all-night fashion and dance party. For New Yorkers, this was an exclusive chance to stock up on the designer’s goods 10 days before the line goes on sale (in-store and online) April 25th.
For 24 hours only, New York Fashionistas were able to get their hands on sleek tuxedos, sexy and fun party dresses and bright dresses and skirts. Not sure if the goods could still be got at 8:30AM this morning, this Insider went for it anyway… and was not disappointed.
Housed in a large, two-level space in the New Yorker Hotel building on Eighth Avenue and 34th Street, the Zac Posen collection lined the walls of a make-shift dance floor, headed up by a stage. Pink and silver balloons were floated up to the ceiling, joined by never-ending strands of silver Mardi Gras beads, adding to the ambiance. Adding to the festive mood, women in short, black and white cocktail dresses with matching hats, hearkening back to 20’s-era hostesses, carried trays with party favors. Even this early in the morning, it was not hard to imagine the great party and dance vibe that was surely felt last night, when the store opened at 11PM. While the band had long since gone home by 8AM, women were doing what this Insider was doing–stopping in on the way to work.
The Zac Posen for Target collection has a little something for everyone–girly and floral, sleek and sexy, denim, satin–at amazing price points. A Starbucks visit first thing in the morning may be a great way to start the day… but finding high fashion, on a Target budget, is an even better high.
