Insider Alex de L’Arbre is the communications manager for the Santa Barbara Conference and Visitors Bureau and Film Commission, a non-profit organization that markets Santa Barbara as a destination for tourism and film production. Alex joined the bureau in 2010 following a five-year stint in Aspen, Colo. where she worked at a public relations agency representing destination, restaurant and lifestyle clients and honed the art of après ski. Armed with a degree in journalism from University of Colorado and a passion for the great outdoors, Alex has contributed to a handful of publications and blogs, writing about travel, food and fashion.

Alex was born and raised in Santa Barbara and has a lifetime of Insider knowledge. These days, she can be found surfing at the plethora of right-point breaks, hiking with her canine sidekick Cooper, or bellying up for some “bar food” at Santa Barbara’s best restaurants.
