Tickled Pink at Domaine Chandon
Pink was everywhere at Domain Chandon’s Pink Party to benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation, from the pink lanterns strung throughout the marvelous oak trees to the pink sparkling wine to guests sporting a touch of pink clothing. It was a magnificent evening of fashion, food and sparkling wine and it was all for a good cause.
Guests were greeted with a glass of Rose sparkling wine and a bite of caviar before joining the festivities on the outdoor terrace. Tables were adorned with pink bouquets and guests were festively adorned in their favorite shades of pink.
Food was prepared by Michelin-starred chef Perry Hoffman, one of the youngest to receive a James Beard nomination and the coveted Michelin-star. Stations were scattered about the terrace featuring appetizers paired with a variety of Domaine Chandon still and sparkling wine.
The raw bar contained oysters, prawns, and tuna tartare paired with a Brut sparkling wine. Decadent corn chowder with crab was paired with a crisp white wine, while the assortment of cheese, bread, and fruit was served with a pinot noir. To ensure no one went hungry, there was an ample supply of passed hors d’oeuvres.
A highlight of the evening was the fashion show by up-and-coming designer Whitney Port, displaying her evening collection. Models walked down a pink runway to upbeat tunes while the crowd looked on intently. The audience consisted of magazine editors, radio personalities, socialites, and the general public, looking their glamorous best.
Guests were encouraged to bid on silent auction items that raised money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Many auction items included a special bottle of Domaine Chandon paired with desirable gifts. Sparkling wine goes with everything and makes the perfect gift, so guests were generously bidding on the auction items.
You may have missed the Pink Party, but you can plan your own excursion to Domaine Chandon for a decadent afternoon of sampling wine and enjoying a gourmet meal at étoile. Dining at étoile is a culinary experience not to be missed. As the only fine-dining restaurant in Napa locatedwithin a winery, the daily collaboration between the culinary team and Domaine Chandon’s winemakers results in innovative, wine-inspired cuisine. The Michelin star doesn’t hurt either.
Domaine Chandon’s Pink Party has become one of their most popular events during the year.
