Reconnect With Nature
Topanga Canyon is a small town close to Santa Monica and Malibu, up in the mountains. It’s a cozy town, where people just live a life stress-free.
If you are a hiking fan, Topanga Canyon is definitely your place to explore and visit, especially because you will see the most beautiful panoramic views of the city of Los Angeles. You will be able to breathe the freshest air with a hint of oak.
Within the Topanga community you will find the Topanga State Park, which features 36 trails through live oaks, grassland, and, of course, wonderful views of the Pacific Ocean.
Technically, Topanga Canyon and the state park are still within the limits of the city of Los Angeles, making it the world’s largest wildland within the boundaries of a major city.
Topanga State Park has more than 11,000 acres of land, which means an excellent outdoor space for mountain bikers and equestrians. It opens at 8 am and closes at dusk, every day of the week.
But wait! The fun doesn’t end there. If after a long day of hiking you still feel like doing some yoga or having an “Aztec Dance and Fitness” class you have to stop by at Yoga Desa.
Yes, you read it correctly: an “Aztec Dance and Fitness” class. This is the most innovative and fun class I have seen in a while. Aida Landeros, the dance professor and creator of this new concept, is just amazing.
The whole class is taught with a life percussionist, which gives it a totally new vibe to a dance/workout class. Her energy and passion for her art are contagious, and the beat of the drum is just the perfect finishing touch. The Aztec dance is actually the warrior dance of the Aztecs, and it has a deep spiritual connection with Mother Nature.
By the end of your day at Topanga you will feel completely renovated, and even though your body might feel tired, your mind will be fully recharged with energy and positivity.
