Pravda Vodka Bar Is ‘Truth’fully a Vodka Bar
Правда, more easily understood as Pravda Vodka Bar, is not the bar to bring your Capitalist friends. Pravda is a pleasantly rambunctious shrine that themes itself on Soviet Communism, vasts amount of Vodka, and Eastern European cuisine as the perfect compliment. While they don’t do a political background check at their red lit front doors, they do restrict attendance to guests aged 25+.
Pravda promises to entertain, educate and ensure that its guests fall in love with their experience. In between DJ sets, a live jazz duo serenades the bar with their saxophone and hand drums while a solo Cirque du Soleil act performs above the heads of patrons sipping vodka on the main floor – a special treat reserved for Friday nights. The bar itself is host to at least 100 different types of Vodka. Ranging from potato Vodka, unique flavors like blueberry or vanilla, and exotic brands that are nearly impossible to purchase outside of Europe. (A drink favorite: Blueberry Vodka, Perrier and ice. Word of caution from the owner: ‘It goes down like water!’)
The ambiance is infectious and almost taunts you with the challenge to find an unhappy face amongst the crowd. The demographic for this bar is limitless yet maintains a certain exclusivity. There’s a birthday event in the far left corner (half the party dancing on their tables), another group conservatively sips and speculates new vodkas at the bar, and all the while you feel like everybody is your closest friend – staff included!
Pravda Vodka Bar is the perfect destination for those looking to gain a little insight on the culture of Toronto. The people of Toronto come together, celebrate their uniqueness and always make everybody feel like they belong.
