Jetsetting With Rising Pop/Hip-Hop Artist D’lannie Brown
As the newest addition to the pop music scene, 18-year-old D’lannie Brown continues to attract attention from top industry representatives with her natural performance ability, impressive vocal skills, and vibrant personality. Her music reflects her life experiences; she draws from relationships, aspects of social life, and personal, emotional incidents. Brown also finds inspiration in the success and drive of some of the major voices in pop music as she rises toward her goal of becoming an international pop superstar.
Q: What type of traveler are you? (i.e., adventurer, cultural explorer, free spirit, rejuvenator, spa aficionado, etc.)
A: I am definitely an adventurer! I love to go places that keep me occupied, such as Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. I also like to go places where I can have fun in the sun. My favorite place in the world is Hawaii, but my ultimate dream place to travel to is Alaska. It’s so beautiful in pictures!
Q: What types of activities do you like to do on your travels? Do you look for a place that is quiet and you can relax or someplace that has great activities and nightlife?
A: I like to travel to a place where I can have a little bit of both, quiet and relaxation time and have a blast as well. You can always lie out by the beach somewhere to get some sun during the day, and at night go out somewhere fabulous and fun! For activities it really just depends on the place we travel to; there are so many different fun and exotic places you can go. Each place is different, and each place has its own activities within it.
Q: When thinking about where you are traveling to next, what inspires you to make a decision? And what if any research do you do about that destination?
A: Usually when my family and I are thinking about where to take a trip we like to go places that have a lot of activities and great weather. If we do any research it would be to see how good the weather is and what there is to do there at that specific location.
Q: What is the most memorable trip you have taken and why?
A: The most memorable place we have taken a trip to is Hawaii. It is such a peaceful place, the people are so nice, and the water is beautiful. I remember we took a trip in a helicopter over the beautiful island and saw huge mountains and a rainbow. It literally looked like a postcard! I would travel there again and again any day.
Q: What is the best food you have ever found on a trip?
A: The best food by far would have to be in Italy. That is some real Italian food for you! It was super yummy. The spaghetti and pizza were seriously the best I have ever tasted in my life.
Q: What’s your best piece of travel advice?
A: My advice would have to be to always have fun and relax. Enjoy the time you have on vacation—before you have to get back home to reality and work. Take your time and don’t put yourself on a schedule. Enjoy yourself.
Q: Is there a destination where you can’t imagine not returning?
A: Hawaii, of course! Like I said, it’s the most beautiful place I have ever been to. When I get married someday it will have to be there; I guess my family should start saving up!
Q: Where are your favorite weekend getaways?
A: I love going to Universal Studios on the weekends. I have a season pass so we go there a lot. I never get sick of it. I also go to Venice Beach and get a yummy fruit cup; that’s always fun.
Q: Where would you like to travel to next?
A: I would love to visit Dubai. I heard it is a wonderful place to visit, and there is great shopping.
Q: Tell us about your upcoming projects?
A: I just finished my newest single called “Don’t Know What You Got” and have a brand new music video coming out. I am happy to say I just signed with LuxeGlobalRecords; it’s such a fantastic record label. I am also starring in a reality television show called “Raising Fame,” which will air in June on TLC. My newest single will hit the radio soon, and I cannot wait to start touring with my new album. I am in the studio almost every day working on new projects and writing. I guess you will just have to wait and see!

Texas native D’lannie Brown is a rising star in the pop/hip-hop music industry. Her passion for music was ignited at the age of 4 when her mother enrolled her in dance class. Brown soon discovered music was what made her thrive, and her love for singing and performing grew as she began to compete in competitions and talent shows. The budding artist has worked with some of the top names in the industry and works to keep her sound fresh with frequent trips to the studio to record new music and work with different producers. The upcoming TLC reality series “Raising Fame” follows Brown’s journey to make it in the industry, showing what she and her family go through to help her achieve her dream.
