Jetsetting With Actress Mircea Monroe

The actress was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and grew up in the South Pacific; she spent time in several different countries before landing back in the United States and eventually settling in Los Angeles. Q: What type of traveler are you? (i.e., adventurer, cultural explorer, free spirit, rejuvenator, spa aficionado, etc.)
A: All of the above!
Q: What types of activities do you like to do on your travels? Do you look for a place where it’s quiet and you can relax or someplace that has great activities or nightlife?
A: It depends on what my body needs. Sometimes it’s great to do absolutely nothing and recharge, and sometimes I must explore. But nightlife is never something I care about. A great dinner, however, is always awesome.
Q: When thinking about where you will travel to next, what inspires you to make a decision? And what, if any, research do you do about that destination?
A: Anything I have never done is an immediate “yes”! I tend to do very little research and let it unfold as I get there. Everything always works out.
Q: What is the most memorable trip you’ve taken and why?
A: In June of this year I did Spain, Montenegro, Croatia, Hungary, and England with my boyfriend. I was working in England, so it was a perfect excuse for travel. It was incredible to have the mixture of adventure, exploration, and relaxation with the person I love.
Q: What is the best food you’ve ever found on a trip?
A: I loved this noodle-type thingy in Budapest. Oh man, I have no idea what it’s called but I dream about it. I want some right now!
Q: What, if anything, do you always take with you when you travel?
A: I take my whole bathroom routine, so I always feel at home.
Q: What’s your best piece of travel advice?
A: Unexpected results sometimes lead to the best experiences.
Q: Is there a destination to which you can’t imagine not returning?
A: Fiji.
Q: Where are your favorite weekend getaways?
A: Northern California is beautiful and relatively easy. I’m obsessed with bed and breakfasts that have animals. Goats are my favorite. How do you not smile when you see a goat?
Q: Where would you like to travel to next?
A: I’m dying for an island!
Q: Tell us about your upcoming project(s)?
A: “Episodes” comes out this month on Showtime. Also, “Dumbbells” comes out in theaters. And “Hart of Dixie” is currently airing on the CW.
