Home, Giacomo…
Taxis have regulated fares to/from most major airports in Italy, but since I’m back and forth so often, I wanted something a bit more familiar each time I land in what I consider another “home” city.
Enter Palazzi, a luxury fleet of Mercedes, poised to materialize wherever I might need them at a moment’s notice, specifically the airport. On my last trip to Italy, a driver met me just outside customs at Milan Malpensa, lifted my bag effortlessly (although I always have hand luggage!), and led me to the car, where bottled water and gorgeous candies awaited me after my long-haul flight from JFK.
As he navigated the traffic around us, he gamely allowed the conversation to proceed in Italian, dispensing with English although he was fluent, to allow me to ease back into the rhythm of the language.
By the time we reached the hotel, I was refreshed, felt steadier in my command of Italian, and had found my newest coveted resource for travel in Italy.
Palazzi is based in Rome (with reach all over the country) and is the preferred transportation company for many leading hotels, fashion houses and the entertainment industry. The company was founded in 1950 and soon became an established leader of luxury services from event production, security, chauffeured cars and other lifestyle organization such as plane and yacht hires, city guides, and villa rentals. Super seamless and professional, I’d use Palazzi time and time again.
