Flying in Style
Los Angeles is the city that keeps people on their toes. There is always something exciting around the corner, and you never know what interesting adventure will come up next.
A few weeks back, an invitation was extended by Flight Options to take a private-jet flight around Los Angeles and meet regional sales manager Brian Hirsch. A meeting while flying in a private jet? These are the kinds of things seen on TV spy shows. So of course the answer was yes.
The pilot at Van Nuys Airport introduced Hirsch, who explained all about the plane. The seven-seat Phenom 300 has a 2,900-mile range and is a brand-new addition to the Flight Options fleet. The interior of this plane is gorgeous. All the leather and woodworking was designed by BMW, and is as luxurious as it gets for a seven-passenger plane.
Hirsch explained the inner workings of the company and talked about the affordability of private flying. Most people think flying privately is beyond their reach, but it’s actually surprisingly accessible.
The hourly rate is the same regardless of the number of passengers, and depends on the type of plane chartered. Because of this, if 10 friends want to hit Las Vegas for the weekend, chartering a plane may be an option.
There are other perks to flying privately—for example, Flight Options will provide custom music, movies, and food to suit any palate. The options are limitless.
Flying privately is an incredible experience. Forget the craziness of commercial airlines and massive airports. No need to arrive two and a half hours before a flight. Here is the lowdown – arrive at the selected airport or FBO (fixed-base operator), show the proper ID, and meet up with the pilot, who will then escort the passengers to the plane. There’s nothing to do after that but sit back and relax. It’s that simple.
So the next time the urge for domestic or international travel hits, think about flying privately.
