Santa Barbara is definitely not immune to the cupcake craze that has taken over the nation. Three local cupcakeries, Crushcakes, Whodidily and Enjoy Cupcakes, satisfy sweet teeth with their scrumptious and innovative flavors. Crushcakes and Whodidily were both recently featured in different episodes of the Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars.”

The secret ingredient for wine country-based enjoy cupcakes is, appropriately, wine—a perfect pairing in my book. Better yet, cupcake and wine lovers can now embark on the guided “Tasty Cupcake & Wine Tour” recently introduced by Santa Barbara Adventure Company. Taste your way through the Santa Ynez Valley sampling fine wines and enjoying the lovely scenery. The icing on the cake of this tour is a stop at Enjoy Cupcakesin Solvang, where you sample six miniature, cute as can be, wine-infused cupcakes with incredible flavors like Pomegranate Mango Chardonnay and Chocolate Blackberry Syrah. The Cupcake tour is available Thursday through Sunday and they are currently offering an introductory price of $125 per person for a limited time. The cost includes wine tasting fees at three locations, cupcake tasting, shuttle service, deli lunch and a knowledgeable guide. That’s a pretty yummy deal.
