British Designer Hermione Harbutt Launches Red Carpet Headwear Range
Los Angeles is the epicenter of the world’s most glamorous red carpet events, not a surprising fact when you consider that Sid Grauman introduced the concept to the world’s media as a publicity pull for his famous Chinese Theater. The residents of equally glamorous Beverly Hills are no stranger to a red carpet or two, and thus are always trawling the fashion aisles for that next unique statement piece of couture to set them apart when facing the flashbulbs. Luckily, the new Red Carpet range from Hermione Harbutt provides just that.
With the exclusive Beverly Hills crowd in her sights, and early interest from several known boutiques in the city, Harbutt flew from London to L.A. to launch her long awaited AW12 evening-wear range of Red Carpet Couture Headwear. Best known for her award-winning bridal accessories, the petite, quintessentially British Harbutt, who is the epitome of glamor herself, hosted an invite-only launch, where guests were treated to champagne, English desserts, and petit fours.
The private viewing was held at the Palihouse, a chic, boutique lounge bar in the heart of Hollywood. Over thirty pieces from Harbutt’s AW12 collection were on display. Guests were invited to model a head piece of their choice for the evening and pose for photographers. Accessories ranged from sensual dark pieces to effervescent designs; something to match the taste of all ladies present.
The elegant array of styles and unique designs impressed the attendees, which included a variety of notable guests from top model Natalie Gal, actresses Ali Costello and Amy Hedrick, producers Justin Levine and Timothy Linh Bui, actors Emrhys Cooper, Craig Robert Young and Kevin Strom, singers Marisa Lauren and Carmen Perez and various stylists and fashion journalists, all vying for some precious time with designer Hermione.
The collection even garnered international interest from Prince Rudolf Kniase Melikoff, who suggested the range would be considered for the upcoming Bal de L’Ete in Monaco, a highly regarded focal point for the world’s fashionable elite.
Red carpet photographers snapped away while guests discussed the various events and projects they couldn’t wait to use the pieces for, and Hermione and Co. explained the intricate designs and custom service, which allows any buyer’s precious stone to be set into one of the designs as the ultimate personalization.
This is the label’s first collection of special-event accessories outside of the bridal market, and when available for purchase on Harbutt’s website in the upcoming weeks is sure to become a staple on the red carpet scene in Beverly Hills and beyond. Watch out for next Oscar season, as it seems quite likely that Hermione Harbutt will be the ubiquitous answer to the classic question of “So, who are you wearing?”
