The Canary, Santa Barbara’s Only Full-Service Luxury Boutique Hotel
Staying at the only full-service luxury hotel in downtown Santa Barbara was quite a treat. At the Canary Hotel’s 97 rooms and suites feel like a home away from home. The whimsical décor is straight from the Canary Islands. The designers wanted their guests to feel like they have been swept away to a relaxing island retreat, and that we did.
The rooms have beautiful dark hardwood floors, gorgeous beds that seem to tuck you right in and sing you to sleep, great furnishings, and super-comfy robes to snuggle into. Once you are well-rested and ready to have a good time in Santa Barbara, you can ride the elevator down and have a delicious meal at the COAST Restaurant & Bar – THE gathering spot downtown. The restaurant features savory, accessible comfort food that reflects Santa Barbara’s seaside location and plentiful bounty, and is sourced from local farms and wharfs. Think crab cakes, charcuterie, grilled flatbreads, braised lamb ravioli, diver scallops, local rockfish, and grilled pork chop. After you eat, hit the town for some fun and excitement.
After running around town doing your thing all day, it’s nice to have a place to come back to where you can enjoy the sunset, have a cocktail, and chill. The Perch on the rooftop is choice sunset-watching property. Pull up a lounge chair, get your drink on, and enjoy the 360-degree views that sweep from the mountains to the Pacific Ocean. It’s also great for you early birds who like to watch the sunrise. The Canary Hotel offers their rooftop for destination weddings, and they have public parties as well.
