Planes, Trains, and Automobiles All the Way to Switzerland
Traveling with my husband, Jason, is always an adventure, and one that I enjoy quite a bit. Our current journey is taking us all over Switzerland, where we will visit Vevey, Bern, St. Moritz, and Geneva. There will be lots of train travel from place to place, and I am sure snide remarks and laughter along the way.

As we prepared for our trip we each packed our respective bags. I, very proudly, only packed two-thirds of my suitcase and one backpack full of camera equipment. Jason, the over-packer, proceeded to pack one suitcase to the hilt, another full of equipment, and yet another he claims is his briefcase to accompany his camera backpack carry-on. Yes, my husband brought four bags with him. I’m not sure if he thought it through or not, but there are only two of us on this trip to carry and move these bags on and off the trains from destination to destination.
And so it began. We arrived Los Angeles International Airport early, checked in, and upgraded ourselves to business class. We needed to sleep as this trip is packed with shooting and interviewing for Jetset Extra. Eleven and a half hours later we landed in Zurich, Switzerland. Once on the ground we quickly realized we both wished Jason were a lighter packer.
We trudged on to the trains and found our platform for the train taking us to Lusanne and then on to Vevey. There we would visit the first of four Swiss Deluxe Hotels with the Swiss Tourism Board. The Grand Hotel du Lac picked us up in its vehicle, and we were on our way. The trip through Switzerland is sure to be one we will never forget.
