Neja Cosmetics From Everyday to Bridal
A hopelessly married woman, I have as much interest in bridal services as a cat in cucumbers. However, when I heard that Neja Cosmetics, popular with the San Francisco Bay Area brides and celebs, invites everyday women to get a chair massage, a quick manicure or a masterful hair trim, I became immediately interested.
As a full-time writer, or a computer slave, I often experience nagging back and shoulder aches, and I remember to trim my hair only when I can’t see through my bangs anymore. As for nails, I prefer clear polish – it’s less visible when it starts to chip off. You get the picture.
So there I was, greeted by Neja Cosmetics’ owner, Nellie Muganda, who has a rich background and a great reputation in the beauty industry, and her friendly staff.
First, Kathy Luong did my nails. My daughter happened to telephone from out of state the moment I sat down for my manicure, so I had to apologize and pick up the phone – any mother would surely understand. By the time I finished a brief therapy session/motivational speech for my baby, my nails were pearly-clean, smooth and shiny, while I had no recollection of how they got to be that beautiful.
Next, it was time for my unruly tresses to stop frizzing up and submit to Luca Matureli’s magic touch. A big stage ex-dancer, now a hair stylist with impeccable taste, Luca showed them the way – I never knew my hair could look so ladylike.
Finally, Minh Mai applied some gentle and desperately needed pressure to my neck, arms, and shoulders, massaging all the stress away. Too bad I didn’t have time for an appointment with esthetician (cosmetologist) Mira Cussen – next time, for sure!
After an hour at Neja Cosmetics I felt like a new woman – and you can, too.
