Big Bar—The Perfect Cocktail Hotspot
Los Feliz which borders Hollywood in Los Angeles, California, is a great hideaway for celebrities, musicians and film industry folk due to its unpretentious neighborhood feeling. Los Feliz is artsy and filled with designer boutiques, coffee shops, and cool restaurants. A few months ago, Tom Trellis unveiled Big Bar in the neighborhood. The renovated Spanish duplex dates back to 1916 and is attached to the Alcove Café and Bakery—known for its organically grown ingredients, fresh produce, and delicious desserts.
The interior of Big Bar is intimate and pleasant, decorated with miniature sculptures and Spanish style chandeliers and a marble and wooden bar— itself decorated with silver bowls filled with expensive wines and champagne as well as collectable art structures. The wine and spirits used at the Big Bar are from the best vineyards and the top brands, and their cocktails are served with fresh juices and a real kick! In today’s economy, people are watching their pocket books, but a cocktail served from Juan, Mia, or Matt is worth every penny. I suggest ordering the Whiskey Barrel Punch, New Brunswick, or Big Bar’s Bloody Mary.
The menu is very complimentary of the atmosphere and the cocktails. To satisfy your taste buds, try bacon-wrapped dates with goat cheese, shrimp ceviche, or the crab cakes. Big Bar is located at 1927 Hillhurst Avenue in Los Angeles and is open past midnight most days of the week. Big Bar is perfect for meetings, dates, and casual encounters.
